Dr. Calvo offers international business and legal consulting services on his own and through a group of experienced international consultants from facilities in various cities throughout the world.  Consulting groups are organized on a tailored basis to meet specific client needs at competitive rates; consequently, less experienced personnel can be used for routine matters while highly specialized, well connected and more expensive personnel can be accessed as required to meet more unusual situations.

Dr. Calvo also offers sophisticated interpretation and translation services and perhaps much more importantly, acculturation of materials for use in the various cultural communities that make up U.S. society.  His partner, Julia Elena Calderon Beltran, a Colombian writer, artist and academician, provides complementary English to Spanish services for U.S. businesses interested in entering the Colombian or other Spanish speaking markets.  One of Dr. Calvo’s most important services involves coordination of professionals in the United States to reduce costs, allocating the services between entities with different levels of experience and influence, depending on the demands of each specific situation.  Additional services are focused on business issues such as international marketing and globalization and facilitating professional services like law, taxation, accounting and finances. Among the services Dr. Calvo can provide directly are organization of legal entities in the states comprising the United States (e.g., corporations, limited partnerships, limited liability companies, trusts and associations of various types) and assistance in compliance with the formal requirements of such associations such as meetings, minutes, resolutions and annual reports.

Dr. Calvo is a dual Colombian – U.S. citizen and is thus not limited in his ability to travel between the two countries or in the activities which he is permitted to undertake.  He was born in the City of Manizales but lived most of his life in the United States.  He is a graduate of the Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science; St. John’s University School of Law in New York City where he earned a doctorate in jurisprudence;  the Graduate Division of the New York University School of Law where he earned a post doctoral LL.M. degree in international legal studies; and, the graduate program in translation studies at the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Florida, where he earned a graduate  certificate in Spanish to English translation.  Dr. Calvo is currently on the faculty of the Universidad Autónoma de Manizales, where he serves as acting chair of the department of political and juridical sciences, teaches political science and works on matters involving institutional internationalization.  He also assists other faculty members in the translation of their academic papers for publication.

In matters involving advertising and public relations, Dr. Calvo is allied with Janette Van Rensberg through Indigo Media LLC, a Colorado limited liability company headquartered in Denver in which he is a member.  Indigo Media offers a wide variety of literary, publishing, and marketing services for individuals and small to medium-sized companies, including including creative copywriting and media planning and placement (see http://www.indigomediallc.com/).  In matters involving marketing and sales, Dr. Calvo is associated with James Michael Light, a sales professional with significant experience in management and international marketing in the Western Hemisphere.  Mr. Light is also a graduate of the Citadel, where he majored in business administration.  In matters involving transport issues, Dr. Calvo is associated with Guillermo Bernal, a certified public accountant born in Venezuela who heads Berg Transport, Inc., headquartered in Ocala, Florida, (see http://www.manta.com/coms2/dnbcompany_jjjh78 ).
