Patterns on the Inside of My Eyelids[1]
Subliminal sunlight seems to filter through my tightly closed eyelids forming patterns I seem to see distinctly for an instant before they morph into others or merely fade.
The background is almost always in tones of red or orange, sometimes even yellow, but I can’t recall any in blues or greens.
I wonder why.
Sometimes the patterns are mobile and frequently at least partially responsive to my efforts to direct them. Sometimes I use them in attempted meditation and at other times I try to use them to control my fate.
Fate seems a bit too whimsical to control though and of course, Murphy, the eternal nemesis, always battles me for command.
Murphy’s a busy guy; a very busy guy.
