A Light Grey Morning in Fall

A Light Grey Morning in Fall[1]

It’s a hazy, indistinct morning in shades of grey; very light grey, very much like me of late.

A family seems to be reassembling, Edward and Alex are here, only Billy and Candice are missing.  A future seems to be assembling, clouds hardening into marble and granite perhaps, but the shapes still much too amorphous, critical parts still missing and direction unknown.

It’s like finding oneself on a half-assembled ship in a strange sea with the crew nowhere in sight and communication cut, – but a nice ship.  Where the hell is the galley though?  And how the hell will I pay for it?

It’s a strange position to be in at my age but perhaps a sign that the end, should it ever come, is still very far away, and that I still have a great deal to do.

It’s a hazy, indistinct morning in shades of grey; very light grey, very much like me of late.
