Illusions, Delusions and Allusions

Illusions, Delusions and Allusions

Reading a good book the second time finds new contexts, things overlooked as trivial stand out demanding to know why they were slighted. Colors gain in intensity, scenes become sharp with hidden meanings revealed.

Illusions merging with delusions hinting at allusions yet unseen.

Characters may still be strangers but now share a sense of familiarity as if they were studying you too, trying to grasp their own enigmas while they figure you out. Not yet obsessions but perhaps, in some cases, on their way.

Illusions merging with delusions hinting at allusions yet unseen.

The plot thickens and thins and stews, odors and tastes, almost familiar, reappearing, but not quite true to evolving memories. Love may be around a hidden corner but if found, somewhat delicate to accept in merely three dimensional space.

Illusions merging with delusions hinting at allusions yet unseen.

Dimensions seem to expand when a book is reread or a poem revisited. Even those we write. They release vapors that dim other surroundings, merging realities and mixing lives real and imagined in a medley we may never hear and will probably never taste.
