Are quirks and quarks related?

It would be an amazing coincidence if they weren’t. Quarks, infinitely older, where probably named after their almost eternally younger phenomena.

The relationship may be a shade deeper as, in a broad sense, they do share attributes like, for example, predictable unpredictability.
