Drats!!
Titania is not Tatiana, oh my!
A world view changes, I wonder just how much. Perhaps only as much as the wafting mini-breeze made by that infamous butterfly’s wing in Brazil, but then, as I recall, that led to a hurricane somewhere some time; or that nail missing from a horse’s shoe that lost a battle and changed the world, although, of course, everything always changes the world somewhat. I assume that’s progress although logically it might also be regress, or perhaps, even egress; what a mess.
I wonder if Oberon knows.
I assume Shakespeare is aware, he must have known all along, about Titania and the butterfly’s wafting wing and the missing horseshoe nail and the fate of the world and things such as that.
Titania is not Tatiana, oh my!
I wonder if Tatiana knows? Of course, there are a great many Tatianas, I’ve known a few, even secretly lusted after one or two. Perhaps even three but not more. They were usually unaware of Shakespeare or Oberon until I brought them to their attention. And of course, I told them about Puck as well, and about midsummers’ eves, and equinoxes and solstices.
But now, … what?
Should I advise them of my mistake? Can I hope to find them all? And if I do, will I be on time? And if I don’t, will there be consequences? There usually are. Will they too change the world, like the butterfly’s wafting wing and the missing horseshoe nail? And what of my errant long lost lust? Contained so far I’m glad to say, but what if it should now finally be set free? And if freed, who’s to say it won’t start seeking out several Claudias I once knew, a few too many Dianas, several Julias and one Marina too few?
