Half a loaf, half a loaf,
half a loaf onward
screamed the two hundred.
Or is it just two?
Interesting. Solace served in strange flavors. Perhaps.
Perhaps time heals and with a bit of luck,
a great big bit of luck,
perhaps immunizes as well.
Half a loaf, half a loaf,
half a loaf onward
screamed the two hundred.
Or is it just two?
Rather than love, affection and generosity wearing her down
time seems to be weaning me, wearing down the intensity I feel,
both the beautifully positive unfettered instants of joy
and the morosely negative despair of her disdain.
Half a loaf, half a loaf,
half a loaf onward
screamed the two hundred.
Or is it just two?
The scent of emotional freedom,
barely the shadow of an echo, it’s true,
barely discernable, but there just the same,
almost within grasp. Or is just teasing me?
Half a loaf, half a loaf,
half a loaf onward
screamed the two hundred.
Or is it just two?
Does hope spring eternal?
Strange to hope that something for which I’ve so long yearned
Is finally fading. Can it be true?
Or is it just sacre bleu playing at being green?
Half a loaf, half a loaf,
half a loaf onward
screamed the two hundred.
Or is it just two?
