Once Upon a Metaphor or, “the Joy of Straw Men”

I just realized that the purportedly conservative, austerity oriented solution to the current worldwide economic crisis has a great analogy:

In order to improve traffic flow it’s misguided and misguiding adherents would solve traffic congestion problems by eliminating directional traffic, that is, all lanes would be open to traffic in both directions.

The resulting chaos and increase in traffic fatalities being mere bleeding heart liberal dribble.

Ahhh: the joy of straw men.
