Bemused but not Amused, View from the Sidelines
So, the mass media and political classes that were so outraged over the leak of intercepted accurate information concerning serious wrongdoing by the DNC and candidate Clinton, purportedly though alleged Russian intercepts, appear to have undergone a paradigm shift.
The leak of rumors concerning a purportedly private telephone conversation between former General Michael T. Flynn and the Russian ambassador to the United States, perhaps on behalf of the President Elect, are just fine. No problems with the President Elect’s designee as Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency’s telephone conversations with the Russian Ambassador being bugged by the outgoing presidential administration and released by … ?
If either position were consistent, it would be defensible. The inconsistency marks it as hypocritical political expediency inured to accuracy or truth.
But that’s today’s reality.
