Particulate-Energy Memory, another Angle on Divinity

Particulate-energy memory

Physics as a tool in the quest to identify and define “Divinity” seems an odd route to take.  Ironic, given popular perceptions to the contrary, that it seems to have so much to offer.  On a macro scale, pantheism and panentheism, the concepts that the Divine’s body encompasses “all that was, is and ever will be” has long provided fertile fields for speculation but it may be that it is the micro level that has the most to offer: the realms of quanta where infinitesimally tiny gluons binding quarks and antiquarks are the giants, quanta fluctuating constantly between energy and matter and, well, vacuum.

While the related physical phenomena in and of themselves are awe inspiring spawning both scientific and metaphysical speculation, one aspect has always fascinated me, one I’ve not really read much if anything about, and that is the role of memory in the fluctuating time space continua.  If everything is assembled, disassembled and reassembled countless times per nanosecond, how is historical continuity possible?  How can objects at the macro level appear to reflect continuity, albeit in an evolving fashion, changing as they age but still recognizably related?  What generates the memory required to make it all possible?

Divinity can enter the equation in at least two fundamental forms, one is causative and the other reflective-reactive.  Either as an independent volitional force guiding both the existence of particulate-energy memory and its evolution, or as a description of the interacting non-volitional forces that result in particulate-energy memory.  A third option of course is that memory is an illusion and that nothing exists except our dream.  The first option would be that favored by deists, the second by atheists and the last, well, by the ultimate existentialist in a universe of one, an inchoate universe without time or space.

The concept of particulate-energy memory would seem essential and perhaps, by a strange series of continuing coincidences, despite my quests for related information, I’ve just not found it; a game the semi-divine “Murphy” mythos would find infinitely entertaining, or maybe it’s just something that, with so much still to learn we’ve just not yet adequately considered.  Or perhaps all of those who’ve considered it have so lost themselves in the concept that they’ve never escaped it long enough to document their perceptions.

Memory as a guiding force or a reflective phenomenon binding space and matter and energy and time.

Something to think about.
