Somewhere Murphy is Snickering; … Again[1]

Is there a phantom pressure continuously nudging “means” towards “ends”?  Does it increase exponentially becoming first a gale and then a hurricane?  Once it succeeds does it proudly prove the Peter Principle, so prevalent in hierarchical organization?

Is that what happened to the concept of capitalism (the real concept, not the misnomer for limited government envisioned in the Physiocratic theory of laissez faire).

Just how did the quest to generate and protect increased capital as a means of generating more economic opportunity and equality morph, become the goal, notwithstanding its social impact?
