An afterthought
I’d always had an inherent belief that on some level, beauty had a positive link to the divine, to the positive, to the intrinsically good.
My sons knew better.
She left me with less than nothing. In an instant even memories faded to blessed insignificance for which I’m grateful, at least right now.
But, to give her credit where it’s due, …
She made me acknowledge the lack of correlation between beauty and truth. In her it involved an inverse ratio, and … she was very, very beautiful.
