The Democratic Party’s chutzpah is astonishing, its hypocrisy has become a dazzling art form, assisted mightily of course by the purportedly “mainstream” media, its production assistant team of writers and disseminators. Hard to believe it will be able to surpass its new pinnacle in the current “Ukrainegate” episode. Tough luck “Game of Thrones”, we have a new winner (or perhaps whiner) in the creative fiction disguised as allegory category.
As it abuses the Congressional investigative and oversight functions for brazen political purposes, and as the echoes of its last presidency’s brazen abuse of its international affairs role, of the intelligence community and criminal justice system to spy on the Trump candidacy and then seek to overthrow the unexpected results of the 2016 presidential election, the Democratic Party as a whole rises demanding impeachment of President Trump because he has apparently urged the Ukraine to enforce its own anticorruption laws and to perhaps share related information with United States law enforcement authorities, apparently anathema, but only when not engaged in by Democratic Party partisans. Guess the goose and gander analogy does not apply although Heaven, perhaps, is the only institution that knows why.
Hitler is purported to have invented the “Big Lie” technique: “lie so brazenly and repeat it so frequently that it will morph into truth, at least in the minds of those lied to”, okay, not an exact quote and it may have been Lenin’s anyway, although the probability that it has been around since shortly after humans learned to speak and the legal profession was born approaches a certainty. But today’s purported journalists have perfected it, at least those accredited to the purported “mainstream” media.
“Ukrainegate”, how not to award it this year’s Nobel Prize for Literature, at least in the creative fiction genre. “Russiagate was a flop but perhaps its authors, the very same team assembled to produce Ukrainegate, have learned something. “If at first you don’t succeed”, … You know the rest, … and the rest and the rest and the rest.
True, the GOP, like its Democratic twin, is a confused jumble of incoherent and hypocritical policies catering to the whims and needs of its elitist masters who coincide almost completely with the Democratic Party’s masters and the owners of the purported “mainstream” media. A pox on all their houses and a quick trip to the dump heap of history would be the best thing that could happen to most of us, but that same purported mainstream media keeps them afloat, a lifesaver inflated with hot air generated by billions and billions and billions of dollars, most created by financial market smoke and mirrors rather than any kind of productive labor (read Piketty’s Capital in the Twenty-First Century, although it is very, very long). Hmmm,… smoke, … kind of like that generated as the environment burns to keep the masters snug in their palaces. Kind of makes me understand the violence into which the French Revolution all too quickly devolved.
But Ukrainegate! Wow.
Of course, although algorithmically challenged by the new Internet infrastructure billionaire class, truth is not yet dead, merely comatose, and every once in a while it sneaks out for a smoke of its own (probably not Tabaco or Vape). Witness for example Ray McGovern’s article in Consortium News published on September 23, 2019 entitled “If the Facts Come Out, it Could Spell the End for Joe Biden”. I can almost hear Ray McGovern pleading “Please, please, don’t put me back in the Box” all the while hoping that finally, it’s the Box that once belonged to Pandora. The article is awesome, spot on, full of facts rather than doctored innuendos, and the masters are desperate that you not read it. Doesn’t that make you want to check it out, even just a little, even if you are fully invested in the faux Resistance and Dump Trump Movements? Even if you thought wearing Pink Pussy Hats was the road to salvation and Antifa the real Salvation Army?
I keep recalling Abraham Lincoln’s musing concerning how often everyone could be fooled. History has treated him very kindly despite the reality that he too was pretty good at fooling others, especially today’s African Americans who ignore the fact that he was a racist who felt different races could not coexist and that former slaves ought not to be granted political rights, but then, he was one of the good racists. Kind of like today’s Democratic Party, the party of “Three Strikes and You’re Out”, and the “Welfare Reform” that destroyed the nucleus of black families.
So, … just how often can most of us be fooled this time around?
Read Ray’s article, please. Please consider sharing this one and please, please consider voting for Tulsi Gabbard.
