Thirty Pieces of Silver: A Historical Reflection on the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee and its Impact on the United States’ Political System

Abstract: This essay deals with the evolution of the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee in the United States and its impact on United States domestic and international policies, criticizing the acceptance of large sums of money by United States public officials to represent the interests of Israel. Money which originates in taxes paid by United States residents which are then granted to Israel and by Israel, to AIPAC, etc. It also touches on the nature of conflicts of interest and their resolution. It is meant as a catalyst of further discussion and research with readers urged to personally review the informational links in the footnotes in order to make their own determinations as to the positions expressed by the author and, as a caveat to those, in the United States and elsewhere who while exercising a public charge in one country accept funding from another, or on behalf of another. The essay concludes that “the phenomenon of public officials elected or appointed to protect the interests of their county accepting payments or contributions or assistance from other countries as an inducement to implement policies favorable to the “benefactor” is hardly rare and is the cornerstone of the foreign policy of many “developed countries” including the United States, the United Kingdom, all Western European countries, the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China. Introduction:

It seems that during the first three decades of this millennium there has been an inversion of the values espoused at the end of 1945 following the Second World War when in the conquered German city of Nuremburg tribunals were held to try some of the men that were deemed the worst violators of norms that regulated human behavior. Quite a number of those men were executed, sacrificed to what the victors sought to portray as a better future. But it was all a farce. Only the vanquished were punished and the institution created to assure that the horrors of the Second World War would never be repeated, the institution that replaced the idealistic Wilsonian League of Nations, was as big a farce as any. The truth is that the victors in the Second World War were every bit as evil as the vanquished. Just perhaps better at public relations.

The issue of genocide as anathema at the end of the Second World War was blatant hypocrisy. In terms of numbers of human beings murdered, the victors far exceeded the vanquished. The British Empire had already murdered over a hundred million human beings in its attempts to colonize the world, the United States had engaged in genocide against its indigenous population, and that was to be just a start. And Leopold of Belgium had murdered ten million of his subjects in Africa. As to genocide, the Nazis were pikers. But useful pikers for those who sought to engage in genocide and ethnic cleansing in the oil rich Middle East.

As this essay is being written, both the victors and the vanquished in the Second World War, as well as those who claim to speak in the name of the victims of the Nazi genocide, have disowned the legal principles and obligations the victors imposed on the world following the Second World War. The principles that representatives of the victims of the Nazi “holocaust” established as law in their roles as prosecutors and judges of the Nuremburg Tribunals. “Might makes right” as the Nazis seem to believe is the concept that, in the end has emerged triumphant. And “truth”, well it never has been all that important except as a deceptive slogan, an illusion to control the masses.

Still, perhaps pure evil in its arrogance has lifted a veil that in the end, may prove to be its undoing. This essay is dedicated to uncomfortable truths, in the hope that at some point, even the most recalcitrant at self-delusion may have their eyes forced open.

One of the principal elements illustrated by Eric Arthur Blair, writing under the pen name George Orwell, in his dystopian epic 1984 (published in 1948) was the irrelevance of truth which, rather than an accurate invariable was a non-existent ideal, the reality being that what passed for truth at any given moment was merely a variable distortionist tool to manipulate the illusion of reality in order to permit a dedicated and amoral minority to exercise consistent control. It was, however, not a prediction of a horrendous potential future but a reflection of the reality under which the world had operated, not only for centuries, but perhaps since the evolution of language. That is the world in which we live and in which all of us currently alive have lived for our entire lives.

The crux of this essay seeks to lift the political veil under which the United States political system (and others) has operated at least since the end of the Second World War. The title metaphorically references the account in the Gospel of Matthew of the Christian New Testament concerning the betrayal of Yešu the Nazarene by his erstwhile disciple, Judas Iscariot[1] (Matthew 26:15). In that account, chief priests of the Second Jewish Temple in Jerusalem purportedly offered Judas “thirty pieces of silver” as an inducement to assist them in the capture of Yešu, an offer which Judas purportedly accepted but of which he subsequently repented, returning the money which the chief priests then purportedly used to buy Akeldama, popularly now referred to as the Potter’s Field[2]. The Potters’ Field was purportedly thereafter purportedly used as a burial ground for poor, unknown, and foreign individuals[3]. The reference in the title equates the conduct of politicians, especially federal elected officials in the United States, with that of Judas Iscariot in the cited passage, analogizing Yešu to the United States’ citizenry and the role of the Jewish priests to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), specifically with respect to bankrolling electoral politics in the United States[4]: massively rewarding politicians who do their bidding and destroying those who oppose them by recruiting and by bankrolling their opposition. The main difference is that the beneficiaries of AIPAC’s “generosity” rarely if ever repent and their betrayal is constant, consistent and to date, massively effective. Best of all for AIPAC, the ultimate victims are not only blissfully unaware of the betrayal but even revel in it in a sort of Stockholm syndrome, a psychological phenomenon where a hostage develops a bond with their captors. Facts do not move them, instead, they merely increase an obstinate refusal to acknowledge reality.

Another difference is that the equivalent of the “thirty pieces of silver” does not come directly from the coffers of AIPAC but rather starts its twisted journey in the form of taxes paid by United States residents to the government for which their betrayers supposedly work, a large portion of which is then transferred to Israel in the form of loans and grants and then a portion is contributed by Israel and Israeli benefactors to AIPAC. A viscously vicious circle. Such sums, in the aggregate, may involve trillions of dollars siphoned off to fund Israel and projects of interest to Israel, the foreign government that AIPAC was created to serve. And to related military “adventures” although perhaps misadventures may be a more accurate term.[5]

So, about AIPAC.

Historical Background:

Most of the following information concerning the organization and history of AIPAC was obtained from The Israel Lobby Archive, Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy (“ILA”; 2008-2017): including articles encaptioned “Isaiah L. Kenen: Foreign Agent to Founder of AIPAC” and “DOJ orders the AZC to Register as a Foreign Agent”. The archive can be accessed at https://www.israellobby.org/index.html and contains significantly more information that what is briefly summarized in this essay. A great deal of the information is factual and not difficult to verify, hence it is very credible, however, “opinions” should be separated from factual assertions. AIPAC’s genesis was in the late nineteenth century when the Zionist movement was organized, ironically, by a Hungarian atheist, Theodor (Binyamin Ze’ev) Herzl, who presided over the first World Zionist Congress in Basel, Switzerland, in August of 1897. In reaction to millennia of antisemitism, its goal was the establishment of a nationalist state somewhere where Jews could safely consolidate their political, economic and cultural traditions, with religion a distant, secondary consideration. Notwithstanding the foregoing, some historians and scholars identify American evangelist William E. Blackstone as the true “father of modern-day Zionism”, arguing that his efforts predated those of Theodor Herzl.

In 1943, the United States link between Zionism and a Jewish State in the British mandate of Palestine was established by Abba Hillel Silver, a rabbi from Cleveland, Ohio, who organized the American Zionist Emergency Council to coordinate support among American Jews for the establishment of a “Jewish State” in the British mandate of Palestine[6]. The Jewish Agency for Israel, a Jerusalem-based, non-governmental organization established in 1929 (the “Jewish Agency”)[7] which served as the executive arm of the World Zionist Organization was an essential intermediary in the formation and management of the American Zionist Emergency Council. The latter was heavily funded throughout the 1950s and early 1960s by the Jewish Agency (specifically by its American Section), laundering money received from Israel and from wealthy Zionists to influence United States policy. In 1949, Rabi Silver’s organization was renamed the American Zionist Council. However, AIPAC itself was formed in 1953, originally as the American Zionist Committee for Public Affairs by Isaiah Leo Kenen. Mr. Kenan, a Canadian-born journalist and lawyer, was an interesting fellow and self-described philanthropist (although perhaps more a beneficiary of Zionist philanthropy). He had initially been involved in lobbying both the United States Congress and the United Nations on behalf of the Jewish Agency in Palestine seeking implementation of the Balfour Declaration and, once Israel was established, he briefly joined the Israeli delegation to the United Nations.

In the fall of 1948, Arthur Liverhant, second secretary of the Israeli mission to the United Nations, initiated correspondence with the United States Department of Justice concerning registration of formal Israeli “information” offices in Washington, D.C., and New York City and on October 10^th of that year they were registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938 (the “FAR Act”) when Mr. Liverhant submitted the required forms to the Department of Justice. Rita Grossman, Bernard Zamichow, Isaiah Kenen, Harvey Rosenhouse and Harry Zinder were listed as its officers and Mr. Kenen was listed as the Director of Information at the New York office. In his related personal foreign agent disclosure application Mr. Kenan wrote “none” in response to the section requiring disclosure of all connections with foreign officials although in his biographies he noted the existence of working relations with many Israeli officials during the relevant period, including Abba Eban and David Ben-Gurion. The Justice Department found a number of deficiencies in the form submitted by Mr. Kenan and required him to file supplemental information. However, although he visited Congress to lobby for arms and aid to Israel during January of 1950, Mr. Kenen chose not to disclose such lobbying.

At the suggestion of the Israeli government Mr. Kenan almost immediately began seeking a means to circumvent the foreign agent registration requirements and the related oversight as they applied to him thus, on February 13, 1951, he advised the Justice Department that he was resigning from the Israel Office of Information, asserting that he had “severed” his relations with the Israel government and requesting that his name be removed from Israel’s FAR Act registration. In furtherance of the foregoing, he advised the Justice Department that he was starting his own independent consulting firm and admitted that the government of Israel would probably be his first client. In fact, his consulting firm was entirely funded by the new State of Israel and he continued reporting directly to diverse Israeli agencies including the foreign office and the recently organized Mossad[8]. In furtherance of his request to be relieved of reporting obligations under the FAR Act, Mr. Kenan advised the FAR Act section of the Justice Department that in his new roles, although he might travel to Israel and received compensation from Israel, the FAR Act should not be deemed applicable to him or to the American Zionist Council; however, he omitted very relevant related facts such as the fact that he was still conducting tours and engaging in lobbying initiatives on behalf of the Israeli government, for example, with visiting Senator Jacob Javits and with Congressmen Ribicoff, Fugate, Keating, O’Toole, Barrett and Fein. Furthermore, while he claimed that his employment at the American Zionist Council had “expired” before his Israel visits, the interruption, if it occurred, was brief as he immediately returned to his lobbying role with that organization (assuming he had ever left it), a role represented as uninterrupted in his biographies.

The FAR Act section of the Justice Department initially bought into Mr. Kenan’s inaccurate representations concluding that because, according to his affirmations, during his trip to Israel he had not published or transmitted any documents or propaganda material to the United States, neither he nor the American Zionist Organization was acting within the United States as an agent of a foreign principal. However, shortly thereafter, the Federal Bureau of Investigation received copies of Israel Office of Information literature circulating without required foreign agents’ disclosure stamps and initiated a related investigation which, a decade later, during the administration of John F. Kennedy, resulted in a contentious relationship. As a result of such investigation, the Senate initiated hearings.

During the pendency of the Senate hearings, Mr. Kenan and the State of Israel became worried that he would be investigated by the State Department for not registering as a foreign agent and, because of such concerns and in reaction to international criticism of the October 1953 Qibya massacre in which Israeli troops under Ariel Sharon killed at least 69 Palestinian villagers, two-thirds of them women and children[9], it was decided by Israel that the lobbying efforts of the American Zionist Council should be separated into a separate organization with separate finances and Mr. Kenan, with Israeli and Zionist funding, formed such separate entity. One that, not being tax exempt, was believed by the Israeli government to be empowered to engage in unsupervised lobbying on its behalf. The entity formed was the American Zionist Committee for Public Affairs which was renamed the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in 1959.

On October, 31, 1962, almost a decade after the United States Senate first began to investigate the issue of Israeli influence over United States foreign and domestic policy, assistant attorney general and director of the Justice Department’s internal security division, J. Walter Yeagley, notified then attorney general Robert F. Kennedy that registration of the American Zionist Council under the FAR Act was indeed required and had in fact been solicited. Mr. Yeagley, described the American Zionist Council as comprised “of representatives of the various Zionist organizations in the United States, including the Zionist Organization of America”, and for some reason, he did not believe that such interpretation would be controversial based on prior discussions between the longtime head of the FAR Act registration section, Nathan B. Lenvin, with both Mr. Kenan and Jewish Agency representative Maurice M. Boukstein. During such discussions Mr. Lenvin had made it clear that, in his view, the activities of both groups appeared to involve an agency relationship with the State of Israel that required registration. Based on such determinations, on November 11, 1962, the Justice Department “requested” that the American Zionist Council register under the FAR Act because it had received funds from the American Section of the Jewish Agency for Israel. However, to Mr. Lenvin’s surprise, the American Zionist Council declined to honor the “request”. Instead, the American Zionist Council’s president, Rabbi Irving Miller, insisting that the “request” for registration raised “many questions of fact and of relationships which should be resolved” prior to compliance and requested an extension of 120 days and such request was granted.

During those 120 days the American Zionist Council’s legal counsel, well known former federal district court judge Simon H. Rifkind, advised his client to completely discontinue the agency relationship with Israel and to cut off the receipt of any additional funds and Judge Rifkind informed Mr. Lenvin that he had so advised his client. However, when informed of the foregoing, Mr. Lenvin pointed out that the termination of such activities would not absolve the American Zionist Council of its obligation to register at which point the American Zionist Council initiated a public relations campaign in the media and in communications with its supporters insisting that the American Zionist Council’s attorneys firmly believed that the law was on its side and that registration under the FAR Act was not appropriate. The Justice Department rejected that position on April 1, 1963 with Mr. Lenvin insisting that litigation should be initiated should the American Zionist Council not comply.

Judge Rifkind, a very well-connected jurist active in political affairs, then complained to a number of his political and media contacts asserting that the vast number of Jews who adhered to the principles of Zionism could not understand how “our administration’ [the United States government] could do such harm to the Zionist movement and impair the effectiveness of the Council by insistence on registration” and Judge Rifkind appealed to Justice Department demanding that it exercise its discretionary power to waive such requirements in the interest of justice. At that point Judge Rifkind found an ally in the Justice Department, assistant attorney general Nicholas Katzenbach (subsequently to serve as attorney general under the more Zionist friendly Lyndon Baines Johnson) who intervened, suggesting that, as a compromise, the American Zionist Council might offer to make full disclosure of the receipt and expenditure of the funds it had received from the Jewish Agency so that such information would be available for public inspection, thus accomplishing “the purposes and objectives of the Registration Act” and eliminating the need for further government action. The stalemate continued until the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, when a more friendly administration apparently concurred with Mr. Katzenbach’s suggestion and thus AIPAC’s began its unprecedented rise to political power.

With massive funding from wealthy Zionists and “discreet” funding directly by Israel, AIPAC quickly grew into an extremely powerful group and, after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963 (and thereafter of Robert F. Kennedy in 1968, both of whom had been thorns in the side of the Zionist project to attain nuclear arms for Israel[10]), Zionists acting on behalf of the Israeli government became legally permitted to circumvent restrictions on foreign funding of United States political campaigns so that, eventually, AIPAC became the largest funder of Congressional and presidential campaigns for both the Republican and Democratic parties but, adding a stick to the carrot, it also became actively involved in recruiting and funding candidates to replace office holders who refused to support AIPAC’s “Israel First” policies[11]. AIPAC also became active in a similar manner at the state and even local levels.

Observations:

Based on AIPAC’s efforts, during the period since the administration of pro-Israeli president Lyndon Baines Johnson until October 7, 2023, Israel had received more than 300 billion dollars in direct United States government aid (in inflation adjusted current dollars)[12], a small fraction of what it had cost AIPAC to finance both major parties at all levels. But, as importantly, in addition to the foregoing, Israel and AIPAC apparently coordinated (and coordinate) activity among the wealthiest Zionists in the United States and elsewhere[13] facilitating their accumulation of massive wealth, a portion of which is donated to AIPAC and more directly to Israel. Zionist activists similar to AIPAC operate in the United Kingdom where they succeeded in dislodging Labour leader Jeremy Corbin from political contention and replaced him with current Zionist Prime Minister Keir Starmer and, in France, they secured the election of Rothschild pupil Emmanuel Macron as president. In Argentina, Zionists recently secured the replacement of Peronism with Zionist Javier Milei and in Colombia Zionists are currently backing right wing presidential contender Paloma Valencia as well as her right wing rival Abelardo de la Espriella. Indeed, Zionists operatives have been funding and advising (more accurately, perhaps, controlling) political leaders and movements all over Europe and Latin America, as well as in the Pacific Basin for decades. The metaphorical thirty pieces of silver have indeed gone a long way.[14]

That for three quarters of a century Israel has engaged in genocide and ethnic cleansing in Palestine has, in large part, been facilitated by AIPAC which not only finances Israeli interests but shields it from criticism in the United States and Europe through Zionist controlled media, as well as from legal consequences through its impact on the United States political and judicial system. That is also true in the United Kingdom and Australia as well as throughout the European Union. The efforts of AIPAC, as recent disclosure seems to imply, appear to have been massively supplemented by illicit activities undertaken by “sort of financier”, Jeffery Epstein who, apparently on behalf of the Israeli Mossad, exerted massive control over financial and political leaders all over the world through blackmail “honey pot” activities (and much worse).

Of course, those who accept AIPAC funding in exchange for their votes and for their performance or non-performance of political, administrative, civic and journalistic duties are at least as much to blame as the secretive membership and leadership[15] of AIPAC, probably more so, and voters who permit themselves to be duped, election after election, are to blame as well. Indeed, it is amazing that so many current and retired members of the United States armed forces as well as fundamentalist Christians whose religion is despised by Zionists, including many people for whom the author cares and who he admires, have become enthralled with supporting AIPAC causes and see no problem with their preferred candidates accepting AIPAC’s tainted political contributions. To them, for some reason, notwithstanding their United States citizenship and in many cases, solemn oaths to uphold and defend the United States Constitution, Israel comes first. Something then Senator Barack Obama once expressed publicly and which many United States politicians, elected and appointed officials and members of the armed forces have also expressed. Consider Senator Lindsay Graham for example, and even presidents Biden and Trump. Thus, today, as noted above, the metaphorical thirty pieces of silver have gone a long, long way towards attaining the Zionist dream of regional conquest of the Middle East and indirect domination of many major worldwide centers of political, economic and cultural power (as antisemites long claimed Jews would), albeit at United States’ taxpayers expense. Such generalized attribution to Jews is, however, patently unfair. Many, many Jews absolutely reject Zionism and certainly not all Zionists are Jews. Indeed, it may well be that Christian Zionists in the United States vastly outnumber their Jewish counterparts: an irony given that after Israel has gone after and murdered hundreds of thousands of Muslims in the Middle East, Israelis are now attacking Christians there as well.[16]

Conclusions:

There was a time when accepting what amount to bribes from foreign powers in exchange for an elected or appointed public officials’ loyalty was considered treason. Not so today. And that is not only true in the United States. Ironically perhaps, the bribes are largely United States’ tax payer funded. Under the second Trump administration, much of the veil that concealed AIPAC and Israeli activities and goals has been cast aside and their activities are much more brazen with concepts such as international law and crimes against humanity openly mocked as irrelevancies. Power in its most naked form has been unmasked as the only basis for political decisions and impunity is now openly praised. A world in chaos is seen as opportunity laden and is openly pursued. Idealism has become a quaint anachronism at best. If the foregoing seems a drastic change, it isn’t, it’s business as usual only now, a bit more openly acknowledged and accepted. The need for subtlety and subterfuge now seemingly unnecessary, corruption has now become not only omnipresent but admired.

In light of the foregoing, the alleged treason of Judas Iscariot now seems almost petty.[17] For well over half a century the government of the United States has not represented its citizenry. Indeed, way too many of its elected representatives derive more income from AIPAC, albeit denominated as political contributions, than they are paid by the United States directly for their services, and a great many have become millionaires. Key figures include former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senators Rick Scott and Mark Warner, all staunch Israeli supporters. AIPAC not only has an improper and undue influence over the government but its allies also control the military industrial complex President Dwight David Eisenhower urged us to be wary of in his farewell address and investors in that industry derive huge fortunes at the expense of future generations of United States citizens who are now burdened with over thirty eight trillion dollars in debt even though they are yet to be born. And Israel has corrupted the moral fiber to which the United States once aspired. Now, along with Israel, the United States promotes genocide and ethnic cleansing; indeed, it finances it. And like Israel, under current president Donald J. Trump, the United States now asserts that international law is meaningless, that only power matters.

The author recently published reflections on a film released in 1984 entitled “Red Dawn”, a film released when the United States still considered itself the champion of the oppressed rather than of the oppressors[18]. That is clearly no longer the case. But the irony lies in the reality that instead of having been conquered by a rival super power, the United States has been conquered from within, by United States citizens whose loyalties are elsewhere. In the case of Zionists, Israel is where their hearts are and they are less to blame for where the United States now finds itself than are those who, believing themselves patriotic Americans and believing themselves devout Christians, have permitted themselves to be deluded by those with other values, other loyalties and other aspirations. Others who perceive of themselves as racially superior and more beloved in the eyes of the Abrahamic god and thus, entitled to hegemonic rule over those who are genetically, racially and religiously impure. Those deluded souls deserve what they will eventually receive but billions of others do not.

During the 1960’s, especially while I was a cadet at the Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, I was drawn to the David versus Goliath version of Zionism I’d been taught but as I became more intellectually independent, especially while I was completing a post legal degree in International Legal Studies at the Graduate Division of the New York University School of Law, I became aware that I had been profoundly deceived about the nature of Zionism, and about the nature of Palestinians and Palestine and Iran, and about the history I had been teaching for almost a decade. That has, of course, been made obvious during the tenure of Benjamin Netanyahu as prime minister of Israel, as Israel has infected the United States with its disdain for human rights and international law, and as the vast majority of the citizens of Israel have amazingly become avid supporters of ethnic cleansing and genocide. Thus, I am now and have been for several decades, an avowed opponent of Zionism and of AIPAC, as this essay makes palpable. Thus, like current Colombian president Gustavo Francisco Petro Urrego with whom I’ve had the opportunity to personally interact and who, despite his tendency to become pugnacious in defense of the values he holds dear, I greatly admire[19], I oppose all forms of racial, ethnic and religious supremacist theories profoundly believing that all men and women are born equally and are entitled to the opportunity to attain their highest potential while respecting the rights of others. It is in that spirit that I wrote this essay.

Conflicts of interest are unavoidable. They are a fact of life. But they must be resolved and resolution requires a prioritization of loyalties. It’s something I understand because like all members of AIPAC and its Jewish Zionist supporters, I have dual nationality. In my case, I’m a citizen of both the United States and the Republic of Colombia and although I spent the vast majority of my life in the United States where I graduated from the Eastern Military Academy and then from the Citadel; and then from the St. John’s University School of Law, the Graduate Division of the New York University School of Law, and the University of Florida’s Center for Latin American Studies, I have spent the last eighteen years in the Republic of Colombia where I chaired the Political Science, Government and International programs at the Universidad Autónoma de Manizales and also taught in a master’s program dealing with Social Justice and the Quest for Peace at the Universidad de Caldas. I love both countries profoundly but I have vehemently opposed United States aid to Colombia (e.g., Plan Colombia) because I felt the citizens of both countries should, as George Washington suggested in his farewell address[20], stand on their own metaphorical two feet. I would never urge that United States taxpayers subsidize Colombia and certainly never suggest that United States tax payers should place the interests of Colombia over those of the United States[21]. And visa versa. Unfortunately, that is not what has occurred with respect to those whose loyalties are split between Israel and the United States. Were I Jewish and a dual citizen of Israel and the United States I would hope that my attitude would be the same but, … who can tell. But were I a United States public official my priorities would be clear, as they would be were I a Colombian public official, or an Israeli public official, which may explain why I have always avoided public office or government employment. Indeed, the phenomenon of public officials elected or appointed to protect the interests of their county accepting payments or contributions or assistance from other countries as an inducement to implement policies favorable to the “benefactor” is hardly rare and is the cornerstone of the foreign policy of many “developed countries” including the United States, the United Kingdom, all Western European countries, the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China. In each case, however, the recipient is betraying the public trust of the citizens of the country he or she purports to represent. The AIPAC/Israeli situation is primarily different in that such “contributions” are purportedly made by United States citizens and institutions seeking to divert resources from their fellow citizens to favor a foreign government and its expansionist ambitions.

This was not a pleasant essay to write. The ugly specter of antisemitism which has existed for two millennia is now used by Zionists as a sword rather than as a shield and Zionists seemingly have no problem with endangering their fellow Jews, as long as their activities provide Israel with a fulcrum it can use to attain wealth and power, especially power. But this essay is important. Truth is important. And anyone who perceives the situation I have posited in the manner which I interpret it owes it to his fellow citizens and to non-Zionist Jews, and to the people all over the world who are being oppressed and murdered by the millions, to make their opinions known.

Silence ought not to be an option despite the certainty of unfounded reprisals and calumnies.

Reflections on the Unprovoked but Predictable United States and Israeli Attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran on the 28th day of February, 2026

Shades of December 7, 1941, but in reverse. And again, of the Nazi Holocaust, but in reverse. This time it’s the United States that is the villain, as are Zionists and as is Israel. Indeed, a more objective historical analysis of the causes of the Second World War and of the history of its protagonists would call into question just who the historical purveyors of genocide were. Think of the indigenous population of the United States, think of the genocide against Africans and East Indians perpetrated by the British and the French and the Belgians, or more historically, of the genocide perpetrated on the Canaanites, and on Jericho, and on so many other peoples as reflected in the Tanakh. Perhaps reality has just become a bit more clear, a bit more focused. And reality is not all that pretty.

It’s difficult to put into words the infamy involved in the latest United States’ collaboration with the pedophilic, genocidal regime which has obviously taken control over politics, governance and communications throughout the so called Western World. The actions undertaken by the United States and Israel on that infamous day at the end of February in 2026.

On December 7, 1941, less perfidious actions by the Empire of Japan against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor were labelled “a day that would live in infamy” by then president Franklin Delano Roosevelt. But sneak attacks during negotiations have become the norm for the United States, in each instance, based on obvious lies, but not involving United States’ interests nor United States territorial expansion, just the sacrifice of the lives of United States citizens and of millions of innocent victims to further the ethnic cleansing, genocidal and expansionist goals of the worst people in modern history, worse even that the Nazis whom they emulate.

That all of the foregoing is applauded and facilitated by Christian fundamentalists mainly in the United States, Israeli firster despite Zionist disdain for Christians (who Zionists loathe and as to whom they claim a god given right to expectorate) is not just sickening but amazing. However, Christianity, at least in its Pauline version, has always been hypocritical, but rarely has it been so self-delusional, subordinating its interests to those of the people who most despise them, those who claim that Yešu was the black magician bastard child of a prostitute (see, Toledot Yeshu).

It all once again proves the accuracy of the Orwellian premises published in 1948. All of them. Self-delusion is as prevalent as the delusion imposed by the Zionists who have attained control over virtually the entirety of United States and Western media, both official and social, just as they acquired, or at least rented, both major United States political parties in the United States through AIPAC and in the United Kingdom through the Conservative Friends of Israel (CFI), the Labour Friends of Israel (LFI), the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland (ZF), and the Britain Israel Communications and Research Centre (BICOM). That more and more United States citizens and citizens of countries in Western Europe are awakening to the foregoing, especially among the young (including young Jews who ought never to be confused with Zionists), may not be enough and certainly will not be timely.

A large segment of the population in the United States, including people I’ve loved and admired and with whom I was educated, people with whom I once felt I shared values of decency and morality and equity and justice, are delusionally applauding the actions of the United States and Israel, having somehow, despite all the evidence to the contrary, become convinced that Iran was the power mad international villain set on conquest. It makes me understand, at long last, how the peaceful and socially aware German people became Nazi supporters, able to look in their mirrors and admire what they saw. But that understanding brings no solace.

The sins of the Clinton, Bush, Obama, Biden and Trump administrations against even the semblance of human decency and especially of the values the United States purports to represent, are eradicable and if history is a guide, may all too soon come home to roost. Certainly the reputation, even if illusory, of which former president Ronald Reagan once spoke, the metaphorical “shining city on a hill”, has been utterly destroyed, at least among the people of the world, if not among their leaders.

February 28, 2026, a day that will live in infamy indeed.

Zionism, Antisemitism, Jeffrey Epstein and the Purported Protocols of the Elders of Zion

No matter how frequently stakes are driven into the heart of the claim that all Jews are part of a sinister plot to enslave all non-Jews, a plot intricately woven into the fraudulent “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” which seemingly refuse to die[1], related suspicions and rumors resurface. It is worth analyzing why. Most recently they are resurfacing on a worldwide basis as a result of the impunity with which Israel has conducted a campaign of land theft, ethnic cleansing and genocide in Palestine as well as throughout the Middle East, a campaign that has lasted, not since October 7, 2023 but during the past three quarters of a century; but now, even more given the ghastly revelations concerning the depredations of Jeffrey Epstein and his accomplices, almost all of whom were devout Zionists. Recent related events have exacerbated the problem due to the facility with which Israel has manipulated the United States, and indeed, most of Western Europe since the end of the Second World War to engage in a series of armed conflicts in the Middle East on Israel’s behalf[2]. Indeed, the roots of that issue precede the First World War, you know, the one that was originally referred to as the War to End All Wars, and the role in all of the foregoing of a small group of Jewish atheists (sort of an oxymoron) and Christian adventists (with a small “a” to distinguish them from the denomination of that name), both identifying as “Zionists”.

The so-called “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” have been characterized as fraudulent for over a century. They were likely initially written by Russian anti-Semites to slander Jews. Ironically however it seems that Zionists[3] may have used at least some of the suggestions contained therein as mechanisms to become the world’s most powerful group, one reveling in related impunity. Disturbingly, Zionists actions now reflect some of the most horrific calumnies attributed to Jews during past millennia because Zionists in Israel engage, not only in genocide and ethnic cleansing, but apparently in the ghoulish harvesting of human organs from involuntary “donors”, in the wholesale murder of women and children and have praised rape as a legitimate instrument of social control. An indicia that not all Jews are Zionists and indeed, that many strongly oppose Zionist atrocities was recently illustrated when the Israeli army’s chief legal officer, Major General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, resigned and was subsequently arrested (earlier this month for leaking a surveillance video that evinced the brutal rape of a Palestinian detainee at the Sde Teiman military detention facility during 2024.

What an irony.

Unfortunately for non-Zionist Jews who reflect real traditional Jewish values, while the Elders of Zion, at least as reflected in the purported Protocols, may well have been fictional, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) certainly is not nor are the numerous Zionist billionaires whose atrocities are reflected in the so called Epstein files. Nor are AIPAC’s Zionist counterparts in the United Kingdom which destroyed the political career of statesman Jeremy Corbin, replacing him with Keith Stammer, and in France, gave us Rothschild protégé Emmanuel Macron and, in Germany, Joachim-Friedrich Martin Josef Merz as well as German Ursula Gertrud von der Leyen in the European Union.

In the United States, AIPAC exercises de facto veto power over all the presidential and most of the Congressional candidates in both the Democratic and Republican parties, choices most voters would rather not support, but the AIPAC controlled portion of the national media constantly convinces us that there are no other choices and manages to keep us too divided and polarized to do anything but accept AIPAC’s dictates, no matter the cost to us in taxes diverted for Israel’s benefit, or the cost in human lives lost or destroyed, both here and abroad in senseless military adventures and interventions. Zionist media control is growing as illustrated by the recent acquisitions by Larry Ellison and his son David, two of the world’s wealthiest billionaires[4] and passionate supporters of Zionism, of Israel and of AIPAC who have recently consolidated their media influence through a series of strategic moves, most notably through the Paramount-Skydance merger which provided them with control over the Warner Bros. Discovery and its CNN news network and a significant portion of TikTok’s U.S. operations, one of the few social media platforms that have previously permitted broad uncensored criticism of Israel. Furthermore, the accelerating evolution of artificial intelligence, especially as used in Internet browsers and search engines now also “coincidentally” censors comments deemed “unfairly” critical of Israel, AIPAC or Zionism in general, an area in which the Ellisons have also recently invested heavily.

Given the Jeffrey Epstein related horrors being revealed daily which include not only pedophilia but unimaginable vampiric blood drinking rituals and cannibalism by world economic and political leaders, it seems to many people all over the world that we are in a hopeless downward ethical and moral spiral and that instead of the perpetual peace envisioned by German philosopher Immanuel Kant, we are trapped in perpetual war engaged in primarily to generate profits and that, to a great extent, that downward spiral is led by Zionists. And that such downward spiral continues with circuses, if not bread, keeping us carefully anesthetized, circuses like sports and television programs and cinema and concerts, and fake news. Arenas where we can futilely rail against each other, wasting our energy but somehow feeling as though we’ve won something, perhaps even as if someone had heard us and acted.

And “someones” have seemingly heard us, and they have acted, just not who we think or in the manner we hoped, and certainly not in the manner we need. But the foregoing does not mean that terrible the status quo will continue without meaningful opposition. Increasingly, younger people all over the world, the United States and Western Europe, many of them Jewish, are protesting against the perpetual war we have been involved in seemingly forever, including against the genocide, ethnic cleansing and massive violations of human rights being orchestrated by the government of Israel, supported by the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Germany. A number of countries have taken affirmative actions to minimize the new holocaust taking place by filing complaints with the International Criminal Court in Rome and with the International Court of Justice, as well as by formally recognizing the existence of a Palestinian State and by restricting or even breaking off relationships with Israel. While such opposition, to date, has been no match for the political, financial and cultural power amassed by Zionists, both Jewish and Christian[5], and by the billionaire class in general, perhaps the all-pro consummate politician, Abraham Lincoln, had a point when he asserted that “you can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time”, and to an extent, that hypothesis may be proving at least partially accurate. However, the growing reaction to Zionist atrocities and abuses is not without significant danger of its own. It may well lead to abuses as malign as those it is initially seeking to eliminate. Rather than a temporary moral and ethical awakening, it appears that a reactive increase in the age old immorality of antisemitism is also occurring. And that solves nothing. It never has.

It is essential therefore to forcefully acknowledge that neither AIPAC nor Zionism in general represent all Jews and indeed, to note that Zionism was founded by atheists rather than religious Jews, and that Zionists, rather than being descendants of the ancient Hebrews, or even of the Jews who inhabited Palestine at the dawn of the Common Era, are, for the most part, descendants of Turkish, Kazhar and Russian converts to Judaism who today primarily comprise only one segment of Judaism, the Ashkenazi. And it is also essential, notwithstanding the insistence by Zionists that they represent all Jews and notwithstanding the reality that the creation of Israel in Palestine against the wishes of those who had inhabited those lands for millennia was a travesty, especially in light of the judgments of the Nuremburg Tribunals, it is critical to acknowledge that Jews and Judaism have been a force for decency and tolerance for millennia and have positively contributed a great deal towards Western civilizations.

As an aside, it is incredibly frustrating and sad that the three branches of the Abrahamic faiths have proven so internecinely fratricidal and that, rather than sharing Abram of the Sumerians as their founder, they all seem to be offspring of the mythical Cain.

Alleged Genocide in Palestine, Jeffrey Epstein, Zionism, AIPAC, the Mossad and the Law of Unintended Consequences: A Plea Not to Conflate Judaism with Zionism

“According to the current Trump administration, it seems that Jeffrey Epstein was apparently an optical illusion, especially with reference to any suspicion that Mr. Epstein was a close personal friend of any among the world’s most powerful people or that he was a critical asset of Israel’s Mossad. ‘No honey pots here, move on. The collective memory of the American people, indeed of people all over the world is mistaken. It must be an Iranian mass hypnosis plot aided by Palestinian baby-eating, mass-raping terrorists.’ That too many people refuse to acknowledge the foregoing, including many deluded MAGA Trump supporters, is unfortunate and obviously involves blatant antisemitism.”

Okay, no citations, the quote is a fabrication, but it’s a fabrication worthy of an answer to a ChatGPT open AI query. And, there may be more than just a kernel of truth in the foregoing. As a caveat, I am not a MAGA or Trump supporter but nor am I a supporter of Trump detractors aligned with the Democratic Party or the legacy media. Nor am I blind, deaf and dumb. A further acknowledgement: I consider myself a leftwing democratic socialist along the lines of Noam Chomsky, Albert Einstein, Martin Luther King, Jr., Nelson Mandela, etc., and I acknowledge that the length of an article usually negatively impacts its readability and thus apologize ahead of time for the length of this one, but the subject matter seemed too important to condense further than it has been. Because of this article’s length, I’m taking the strange step of quoting its concluding paragraph here. Make of that what you will: “While it is fair to insist that Zionist Israel should follow Nazi Germany into the dust bins of history, that the United States must rid itself of AIPAC controlled political parties and politicians and that the Mossad should go the way of the Gestapo, a repeat of the massive historical violations of human rights incident to antisemitism must never again be repeated or justified.”

There is an unfortunate and potentially dangerous resurgence in antisemitism as a result of non-traditional factors, one being the campaign by Zionists in Israel engaged in genocide and other crimes against humanity and violations of international law to conflate their political program with the far broader aspects of Judaism claiming that opposition to Zionism is anti-Semitic, per se. Anti-Semitic under any circumstances, notwithstanding any objective verities. Another is the enshrinement of such conflation in penal legislation which, in essence, makes criticism of Zionism or Israel, regardless of how justified, illegal.

The mass murder, rape and starvation of the Palestinian people by Israel has led to a broad reaction by people from every corner of the world against Israeli Zionism (including large numbers of traditional Jews, especially Orthodox Jews). People all over the world (although less so in the United States) are revolted by the indiscriminate murder of women and children, the wholesale destruction of Palestinian hospitals, mosques, schools and homes, but also the justification of rape as a legitimate means of control and the murder of infants and children based on the fear of eventual retaliation. That Israeli settlers are now also attacking Christian communities, burning Christian churches and seeking the expulsion of Christians as well as Muslims from the Levant will only make things worse as some within the somnambulant Christian community in the United States may suddenly wake up. Unfortunately, that justifiable reaction may all too easily be used by racist anti-Semites to justify their long held hatred and fear of Jews in general. Jews, who they claim, are bent on worldwide hegemony as evinced by the disproportionate power wielded by them in politics, the economy, the news media, the entertainment industry and in many other major industries claiming that, as evinced by the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, it is all based on a long term plot rather than on the natural consequences of meritocracy.

The Protocols of the Elders of Zion was a document circulated during the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century detailing a purported Zionist plot to attain world dominance but debunked as a forgery during the 1920s, although it has never stopped circulating in various variants and has been a cornerstone of twentieth century antisemitism. Reference to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion as forgeries rather than fabrications has resulted in confusion to some as, generally speaking, a forgery is understood to involve the existence of some predicate instrument that has been distorted with an inaccurate variant being passed off as genuine but, in either case, there is no doubt that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion were used and continue to be used to justify anti-Semitic narratives.

As an indicia of the foregoing, Nicholas Joseph Fuentes (a right wing political pundit, activist and live streamer accused of promoting white supremacist, misogynistic and anti-Semitic views) recently released the following purported statistics concerning Zionist dominance in diverse fields of United States’ politics, education and commerce. According to him and others who share his prejudices, purportedly ninety percent of donors to the Democratic Party are Jewish, over eighty-seven percent of the presidents of Ivy League universities are Jewish, all major talent agencies in the United States are “Jewish” run, half of the owners of NBA teams are Jewish (as is the NBA Commissioner) and, during the past four decades, all chairpersons of the Federal Reserve with the exception of Jerome Powell have been Jewish. Finally, Mr. Fuentes claims that the majority of the members of the cabinets in the most recent United States presidential administrations have either been Jewish or had Jewish spouses. Similar claims are made concerning the United Kingdom and diverse European countries. In short, according to anti-Semites, Jews control most of the world’s financial institutions, most of the world’s news media, most of the world’s entertainment industry, most of the world’s major educational institutions, they control everything worth controlling, either directly or indirectly. Of course, that ignores the existence of the Global South, of India and China and Russia and Iran and North Korea and Yemen, etc. However, even respected political commentators like former Judge Andrew Napolitano have recently interacted with former government officials who claim that despite their miniscule percentage of the population in the United States, Zionists are an overwhelming majority of the government officials in charge of foreign affairs in both Republican and Democratic Party administrations and that both major United States political parties are wholly subservient to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) which can make or break any member of the United States Congress through its access to massive donor wealth. Respected political commentators like former Judge Napolitano, Tucker Carlson, Jeffrey Sacks and Noam Chomsky, as contrasted with Mr. Fuentes, are providing such information not in the context of traditional generalized antisemitism (indeed, Doctors Sacks and Chomsky are among the world’s most prominent and respected Jews) but rather, in response to the United States’ wholehearted support of Israel, no matter what, as illustrated by the financing of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, Israel’s overthrow of the government of Syria and Syria’s ongoing dismemberment and the ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon as well as the recent Israeli-American attacks on Iran, none of which positively impact United States’ interests.

Admittedly, today, much of the world (outside of the United States) is justifiably outraged by the United States-supported Israeli conduct criticized by Messrs. Sacks, Chomsky, Carlson, Napolitano and dozens of others. But things are getting worse, not better. According to available polling data Israelis in general have been utterly corrupted by the policies of their government and now wholeheartedly and bloodthirstily approve of their government actions which most credible specialists in international law characterize as crimes of lèse humanité comparable to the worst instances of violations of human rights in modern history. Indeed, Zionist settlers are now doing their best to eliminate Christians from Israel as well as Muslims prompting a rebuke from Catholic Pope Leo XIV.

Apologists for Israel’s consistent violations of international law and basic human rights during more than three quarters of a century argue that Israel’s actions are existentially necessary for the survival of the Jewish race even though Judaism is neither a race nor a nationality and Zionism is not even a religion. To a growing extent, such actions are resulting in the malediction common to self-fulfilling prophecies and such actions have had the opposite effect; in many instances, very unfairly so. Zionist lies (as blatantly false as the Protocols of the Elders of Zion) to the effect that Israel and Zionism act in the name of and for the benefit of all Jews are indeed resulting in increased antisemitism, especially as antisemitism is being legally defined, especially as it is being legally defined in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and Australia. Defined, not as generalized hatred of Jews but as opposition, not to Judaism, but to Zionism. It’s as though the infamous Murphy (of Murphy’s Law fame) was an anti-Semite as well.

Judaism is not synonymous with Zionism and many of the most vociferous critics of Zionist crimes of lèse-humanité are, as indicated above, in fact Jews, especially orthodox Jews. And even if Mr. Fuentes’ statistics or the more credible information presented in interviews conducted by Messrs. Napolitano and Tucker, especially those observations that have involved renowned political economist Jeffrey Sacks, bear any resemblance to reality, that does not mean that meritocracy rather than a grand conspiracy is not the reason for that statistical anomaly. But wouldn’t it be a strange and ironic twist of fate, even an indicia of divine justice in the face of millennia of antisemitism, if whoever was responsible for concocting the Protocols of the Elders of Zion in fact provided a blueprint for the evolution of meaningful Jewish and Zionist power far in excess of that which the miniscule number of Jews, compared to Christians, Muslims, etc., would appear to represent if statistics rather than merit were the measuring stick?

Now the Trump administration’s Jeffrey Epstein fiasco is adding to the problem.

It has been credibly alleged by former Israeli intelligence officer Ari Ben-Menashe and other credible witnesses that Mr. Epstein was an agent of Israel’s infamous Mossad and that his sexual predation was a tool designed specifically by the Mossad to compromise important political, economic and social leaders, especially the most wealthy and powerful among them, in order to provide Israel with leverage against them. Prior to his latest election, Mr. Trump had promised to make public all available information concerning Mr. Epstein’s activities, especially including a purported list of his “clients” but he has totally backtracked on that promise and while the corporate media and Mr. Trump’s political opponents insist that Mr. Trump’s change in attitude is based on compromising information specifically concerning him that would come to light in the event that the Epstein files were made public, there are a plethora of unconfirmable rumors to the effect that instead of the foregoing, Israel has somehow or other convinced the Trump Administration that the promised public release of information would not only tarnish numerous elites in politics, finance, entertainment, the news media, etc., but that such disclosure would also implicate numerous United States intelligence agencies and leaders and thus, would have a negative impact on United States intelligence sources and methods, impacting “national security”. Unfortunately (unfortunately for the Trump administration as well as Israel), it seems way too many cats are out of the bag including unverifiable claims that it was the Israeli Mossad that was responsible for the assassination of President Trump’s predecessor, John F. Kennedy and perhaps even for the destruction of New York’s World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

President Trump’s defense of Israeli interests in the Epstein affair, if accurate, is proving personally catastrophic to him. As indicated above, his numerous opponents, especially in the corporate media and, of course, the Democratic Party, are using Mr. Trump’s refusal to release materials in the possession of the United States Department of Justice and intelligence agencies as proof that he, like Mr. Jeffries, is a pedophile and seemingly was the only person of public interest with whom Mr. Epstein “partied”. That distraction is being massively played up, according to some, to keep attention off of Mr. Epstein’s Israeli intelligence connection and his decades’ long successful generation of salacious materials useful to the Zionist cause. Still, related information keeps leaking out and as often as not, the sources are non-Zionist Jews. Unfortunately for Jews in general, Israel’s impunity with respect to the ongoing genocide in Palestine is making such otherwise unverifiable claims concerning Mossad activities all too credible, especially to people all too prepared to think the worst of Jews but, more troublingly, to a large number of people who are not congenital anti-Semites.

Just when things were going Israel’s way in Syria and Lebanon and Palestine and Iran and in all the Middle Eastern dictatorships and in all the NATO countries, this had to happen! Apparently justice is just too difficult to keep bought and traces of truth, albeit mixed with wild conspiracy theories, continue to leak out no matter how much censorship is imposed. As an unfortunate consequence, the Law of Unintended Consequences, a close relative to Murphy’s Law, may well be seeding the ground for a very unfortunate revival of real antisemitism. Something against which honorable critics of Zionist atrocities and of manipulation of the governments of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and the Middle East dictatorships must guard, especially by repeatedly pointing out that non-Zionist Jews are leading the criticism of the massive Israeli abuses involved.

While it is fair to insist that Zionist Israel should follow Nazi Germany into the dust bins of history, that the United States must rid itself of AIPAC controlled political parties and politicians and that the Mossad should go the way of the Gestapo, a repeat of the massive historical violations of human rights incident to antisemitism must never again be repeated or justified.

On the Nature of Modern History

The recording of history seems to have always belonged to the literary genres of creative writing and fiction. It has seemingly always been, at least in its popular and official versions, more of a creative than an objective process. It frequently has some links to actual events but its role seems to have almost always been to distort whatever is reported in order to protect the most guilty and nefarious among us. Consider for example Abrahamic sacred scriptures including their Jewish originals and their Christian and Islamic incarnations (e.g., the Tanakh, the Bible and the Koran): slavery was just, human sacrifice appropriate, genocide a good thing (as was the death penalty for minor transgressions), animal sacrifice was required, women were inherently inferior, etc. Amazingly, we continue to consider such “historical” (some would call them hysterical) sources as sacred and worthy of adoration while, incoherently, we consider those who actually follow such canonical laws (mainly fundamentalist Muslims) as savages.

The trend towards massive distortion of history and journalism has become exceedingly obvious during the past two centuries and, at this juncture, has gone wild as purported journalism has become a primary source for historians. To mangle and distort a quote made famous in the fictional Star Trek universe: journalism “is not and never has been a historian’s friend”. There is a related saying with some truth in it to the effect that “history is written by the victors” but of course, the word “history” in that phrase must be modified with the adjective “purported”.

Recent events have made the foregoing more clear than ever. Take the recent situation in Syria for example. The “western” press (whatever that is) is gleefully proclaiming that Bashar al-Assad was a ruthless and vicious dictator whose overthrow must be seen as a wonderful event for justice, decency and democracy, while the same “western” press promotes Zionist genocide throughout the Middle East with the full support of “western democracies” and also support murderous dictatorships all over the world, Saudi Arabia and Israel being interesting examples. That Ahmed al-Sharaa (also known as Abu Mohammed al-Jolani), Mr. Assad’s conqueror is a former leader of ISIS and Al-Qaida seems beside the point to such western democracies and to the journalists who help keep them and their pet dictators in power. That Mr. Assad’s conqueror was backed by, hmmm, genocidal Israel in its quest to conquer the Middle East is also beside the point, or that the new regime is already imposing a Taliban style regime in Syria, something criticized severely by western democracies and journalists with respect to Afghanistan. That Israel seems to be surreptitiously behind these recent events raises questions (at least to the bravest or most reckless among us) concerning the reality of the events in lower Manhattan on the morning of September 11, 2001. And, of course, we also have the situation in what was once the Ukraine (who knows what it is now). Apparently impoverished Ukraine was directly involved in helping arm the victorious rebellion and some wonder how that was possible or what it portends. Questions, questions, questions. Answers will of course be soon forthcoming and had best be accepted, … unquestioned.

Today, seemingly a majority of the United States electorate as well as majorities of the electorates in diverse European countries are aware that they are being deceived and manipulated by what passes for journalism and historiography and, at least recently, many voters have been turning to populist candidates, populist in the sense of reliance on a more accurate version of democracy, one freed from the purportedly democratic institutions that are really no more than manipulative weaves designed to fleece us as surely as victims are fleeced in a traditional shell game. Nonetheless, knowing that one is being deceived is not synonymous with discerning the truth and that is where we find ourselves: effectively manipulated by persons we know are deceiving us but who manage to impact our perceptions just the same. Had William Shakespeare been more discerning, perhaps he would have added journalists and historians to lawyers in the famous line from his play Henry VI, Part 2: “The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers”. As both a lawyer (non-practicing though) and a historian (among other things), that thought, while perhaps somewhat meritorious, does not appeal to me.

The foregoing admissions concerning the nature of the history most of us are taught (and teach), raise (for the relatively few of us who aspire to retain open minds and who value truth) serious and important questions about the real history of our planet, especially during the past two centuries. For example, about the real causes of the American Revolution and the United States “Civil” War (some refer to it as the war of Northern Aggression while the more objective refer to it as the War Between the States), or more recently and perhaps more to the point today, about the causes of the Second World War and what actually took place in the countries involved during that cataclysmic epoch, an epoch whose echoes still seem to buffet us all too regularly. We’ve been taught that fascists under the leadership of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini (and to some extent, Hideki Tōjō) were bloodthirsty, racist tyrants who embodied everything evil while the leaders of the United States and the United Kingdom were benign defenders of liberty, democracy, justice and tolerance, this despite the fact that the latter, like the Axis powers, maintained concentration camps: the United States in California to imprison people of Japanese descent and in Panama, for general purposes, and the British, in South Africa and elsewhere. Indeed, the British invented the concept. And, of course, the history we are taught presents the victors in the Second World War as benign saviors of humanity notwithstanding the fact that both the United Kingdom and the United States engaged in mass murder during that conflict as assuredly as did their enemies, albeit more efficiently, ; i.e., mass extermination not through a morbid form of euthanasia but by burning and blowing up massive numbers of human beings through firebombing of civilian population centers in Europe and Japan and, of course, in the nuclear attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Interestingly, notwithstanding the purported importance of verity to the just, it is illegal in many countries to question what happened during the Second World War and why, at least if questioning raises questions whose answers deviate from official narratives imposed by the victors. It is illegal to question official narratives even though common sense seems to squeal as if it were being tortured when such narratives are even superficially examined, and, especially, when we witness how journalism and history are tortured today by the descendants of the sources that have forced their narratives for over three quarters of a century on a weary postwar world (well, “postwar” may be a distortion given the never ending nature of armed encounters involving the victors in that conflict). Interesting that the Zionist ethnic cleansing and genocide of Palestinians began concurrently with the fabrication of such narratives, narratives which were relied on by Zionists to justify their theft of Palestine as compensation for the atrocities that Jews suffered during the Second World War, purportedly at the hands of the Germans (rather than, as one might have supposed, the Palestinians). An alien ethnologist not bound by Terran penal codes might someday dare to ask: “Why weren’t the Jews given Bavaria as a homeland?”

Other questions that such daring alien ethnologist might ask but which are illegal for us to consider involve, for example, some observations that arise from admitted facts, for example, that the “Allies” (history’s good guys in that conflict) had imposed a total economic blockade and embargo over continental Europe which prevented the countries under the control of the “Axis Powers” (history’s bad guys in that conflict) from obtaining food, medicine, fuel, etc., from noncombatants and neutral states, and the observation that because of that, the populations in such countries faced starvation and their leaders were forced to make desperate decisions as to allocation of resources, including the establishment of priorities with respect to what segments of their populations were to be fed and cared for. Were one to make such illegal observations instead of the alien ethnologist (heaven forbid), then one might follow them up wondering how many of the casualties of what has become pejoratively referred to as the Holocaust were attributable to decisions relating to the consequences of such successful total economic blockade and embargo.

Another illegal perspective to consider with respect to the Second World War is how the overwhelmingly pro-German worldwide Jewish population during the First World War subsequently came to be despised by their formerly benign non-Jewish German neighbors. After all, the German Empire and its predecessor, the Kingdom of Prussia, had been, for centuries, the parts of Europe most welcoming to Jews, the places where they were treated most equitably and most permitted to thrive. There are source materials that point rather specifically at a deliberate effort by a segment of Jews in the United Kingdom and the United States to accomplish exactly that in order to promote a secular political goal known as Zionism, and that the success of their efforts, directed at colonizing and acquiring the segment of the Ottoman Empire known geographically, culturally and historically as Palestine, required the sundering of German Jews from their historical loyalty to their adopted homeland by turning their neighbors against them based on the assertion that “it was Jews who were responsible for the German Empire’s defeat in the First World War”, a feat accomplished by manipulating the United States into entering that war on the side of the Triple Entente (history’s good guys in that war). That is a distorted assertion as it was only the small minority of Jews who had adopted Zionism who had offered to betray their brethren in exchange for the promise by the members of the Triple Entente to turn Palestine over to them following successful conclusion of that war and dismemberment of the Ottoman Empire (the Balfour Declaration), but, repeated frequently and boastfully enough by Zionists, it seems that it had the desired impact, consequences be damned.

Since the foregoing considerations are illegal, they must be false and thus, no efforts may be permitted to research them and to come to contrarian conclusions and to share such conclusions. That would obviously involve fascism, hatred for liberty and democracy and justice and equity, and of course, racism, antisemitism and white supremacy. Anyone making related observations would justifiably be labeled a Holocaust denier!!!

Such is the current interpretation of historical objectivity and it echoes attempts to minimize analysis in real time, with our own eyes and ears, of just what is happening in the Middle East today as hundreds of thousands of people, mainly women, children and the elderly are mysteriously “dying”, dismembered. Misguided college students, academics, researchers and non-traditional journalists who raise related questions, come to related conclusions and engage in related protests, all misguided of course, are, fortunately, being censored into more constructive reflections concerning things such as their future, their scholarships, their institutional standing, their tenure, their job prospects, all considerations certain to guide them toward the light.

After all, genocide is relative.

When good guys engage in mass murder, such as in the case of:

the murder of the first born males of ancient Egypt, or
of all the men, women, children and frequently, even livestock in ancient Canaan (Jericho for example), or
of the Christians in Jerusalem during the year 614 of the Common Era; or, of course,
the massacre of the indigenous populations of the Americas by Europeans,

then, even though it walks, talks, sounds and feels like genocide, it is something else. Or, in each such case, genocide is actually a positive cleansing tool designed to promote the delights of ethnic purity and to meet the “white man’s burden”. Not so much when the former orchestrators of genocide become the victims (or represent themselves as victims), at least not until they can once more become the victimizers. At any rate, purported victims of genocide are generally characterized by history as “terrorists” or “savages”, except, of course, if they are presented as having been victims of “the” Holocaust.

It’s a mystery, I know, kind of like the nature of the Christian “trinity”, or how there can be a square root for minus one, or how observation can impact quantic phenomena. But that’s history for you, at least in its “official” versions.

So, how sick is our world today?

Perhaps a more relevant question might be, where it legal to ask: “How much different is our world today than it would have been had the Central Powers (the German Empire, the Austria-Hungarian Empire and the Ottoman Empire) emerged victorious in the First World War?” One answer is: there might well never have been a second world war. But then, things having happened as they did, so perhaps there are other areas in which we can more profitably sort of speculate. So we might ask, were it legal: “How much different would our world be today had the Nazis won World War Two?” We’ll never know and that may be a good thing. Then again, given the reality that the only thing we know is that everything we’ve been taught is at best highly distorted and likely very inaccurate (didn’t want to say false, that would be too broad a generality), perhaps the world would be all too similar to our own with just the lead characters having changed roles: our historical heroes, especially Winston Churchill and Harry Truman being perceived as horrendous villains (which they were) and our arch villains, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini and Hideki Tōjō perceived as courageous visionaries and mankind’s saviors (which they, in all likelihood, were not and would not have been). And what about Stalin in that scenario?

Wow! The tune played by the defeated English armies at Yorktown in October of 1771 after their defeat at the Battle of Saratoga comes to mind.

“Antisemitism”: a Disturbing New Semantic Perspective

Is renewal of antisemitism the best way to resolve today’s geopolitical crisis, perhaps an existential crises? If that’s true it’s an incredibly disturbing rejection of the ethics and morality that finally evolved during the past century.

But is it true nonetheless?

The answer depends on how one defines (or rather, re-defines) antisemitism, something that has become an accelerating trend led by Zionists, both Jewish and Christian. The “re-definers” insist on defining “antisemitism” as any criticism of the Zionist anti-Islamic agenda thus, opposition to ethnic cleansing, apartheid, mass-murder, property theft and genocide when practiced by Jews or Jewish allies, is now defined according to them as “antisemitism” and such definition is more and more frequently being codified into law, especially in the United Kingdom and now in the United States and the European Union. If one accepts that definition as valid, then the corollary is that antisemitism is morally and ethically a positive rather than a horrible trait, and antisemitism thus becomes, not a ludicrously unjustifiable prejudice but an essential trait necessary to promote equity, justice and world peace.

How strange is that?

Given such re-definition, the law of unintended consequences comes into play, something of which many thoughtful and conscientious Jews are only too aware and, consequently, reject, insisting that such Zionist actions must not be made in their names. They’re aware not only of the ethical and moral quagmire involved but of the eventual re-evaluative reaction, one that may well prove all too similar to reactions from which Jews have suffered throughout their history. Reactions that have treated all Jews as responsible for the actions of a few and consequently eventually labeled Jews generically as selfish and morally repugnant “others”. Reactions in which Jews, in a generalized sense, are first admired, respected and permitted to attain substantial political and economic power only to lose it all, and to all too frequently, lose their lives as well.

The cycles of Jewish power and then despair are seemingly tied to the concept of genocide, something with which notwithstanding perceptions, Judaism has been historically linked, more often, as is the case today, as victimizer than as victim. Current Zionist leaders in Israel have recently expressed admiration for historical incidents involving genocide engaged in by the ancient Hebrews and avocate for the morality of engaging in similar conduct today notwithstanding its classification since the second war to end all wars as involving crimes of lesse humanidad and thus, purportedly anathema. The actions that Israeli leaders have recently defended as appropriate include the use of rape, torture, collective punishment and mass extermination as legitimate military tactics.

Unfortunately, examples of Jewish orchestrated genocide lauded by Israel’s current leaders abound in the Tanakh as they do the Old Testament of the Christian Bible. Both record in positive terms numerous instances of genocide, sometime engaged in directly by the Abrahamic divinity (e.g., the destruction of the so called cities of the plain, Sodom and Gomorrah, etc.; the Great Flood, the murder of the Egyptian first borns, etc.), but all too frequently genocide directly perpetrated by Jews themselves, as in the slaughter of all the men, women and children of ancient Jericho and in a large number of other Canaanite cities by Joshua, Saul, David, etc.; and the genocide visited on Christians in Jerusalem in the seventh century during the Sasanian conquest in the year 614 of the Common Era. The unfortunate corollary has been that the Jews themselves have subsequently suffered calamities all too similar to those that they inflicted on others, e.g., the Babylonian conquest, the Roman conquest, the millennia of antisemitism which followed the purported torture and execution of Yešu the Nazarene by the Jerusalem Sanhedrin and finally, the so called Nazi Holocaust.

We now find ourselves once more in what seems a new cycle.

Starting in the nineteenth century, instigated by fundamentalist Christians in the United States who hoped to accelerate the end of the world and the so called “second coming”, Jews who’d attained economic power in the United States, the United Kingdom, France and elsewhere sought to reverse the tide of European and American antisemitism by creating a homeland for the Jewish people, eventually settling on the part of the Ottoman Empire referred to as Palestine. The fact that Palestine had been inhabited for millennia by the descendants of historical Jews who’d converted, first to Christianity and then to Islam, and by others, especially Arabs who’d wandered in over the centuries, was deemed of no importance to this new movement which its adherents referred to as “Zionism”. Nor was the fact that such plans were anathema to Orthodox Jews who viewed them as contrary to the dictates and plans of the Hebrew divinity. In implementing their plan, the Zionists were ruthless from the beginning, eventually exposing their brethren in Germany and Eastern Europe to the tragedy commonly referred to as the Nazi Holocaust, a disaster essential to the success of the Zionist goal as, following that calamity, the victorious powers in the second war to end all wars finally complied with their commitments to Zionists for their purported help in persuading the United States to enter the first war to end all wars on the side of the victors. Thus, despite the supposed right of popular self-determination, Zionists were awarded sovereignty over most of Palestine in 1947 despite being a small minority of Palestine’s total population and since then have sought continuous expansion through ethnic cleansing, theft of land and genocide. As in the case of ancient Sparta (which Zionists seem to revere), since 1948 Zionists and other Jews have found themselves a minority in a sea of virtual slaves they were prepared to dominate by whatever means seem useful, the decisions of the Nuremberg tribunals (which Zionists had largely crafted) be damned.

Which is where we find ourselves today. Pretty much damned.

Semitism has now been re-defined by Zionists as a Spartan-like creed that insists that anything done to maintain power over a subjugated population, including its elimination, is proper and defensible regardless of the hypocrisy involved, and, conversely, that anything which stands in the way of such “Semitism” is obviously antisemitic and must be destroyed.

That attitude mortgages the future in favor of the greed of the moment in much the same way that, according to traditional Christians, the leaders of the Jerusalem Sanhedrin did two millennia ago when, addressing Roman concerns over the crucifixion of what to them seemed an innocent man, they purportedly told the Roman procurator in Palestine that any sins involved would be on their heads and on those of their descendants. So very much like Luis XV’s purported refrain, “après moi le déluge”.

Zionists and the Holocaust: The One with a Capital H as Well as the One Taking Place Today, a disturbing reflection

This reflection is long overdue and deals with facts that have been in plain sight for a very long time but which have been obfuscated, distorting the terrible reality in which we find ourselves and thus, making real solutions to the problems we face unattainable. However, the horrible deliberate slaughter we are experiencing in the Middle East, specifically in Palestine (Hedges, 2024, Al Jazeera, 2017), has brought the issue treated in this reflection to the forefront and, if the phrase “never again” is ever to attain the meaning ascribed to it (primarily as a slogan) following the Holocaust, it is essential that the concepts involved be fully and accurately examined. The topic dealt with in this reflection deals with the sociopolitical phenomenon known as Zionism, a widely used term usually devoid of context which, to an extent, this reflection seeks to provide. Not as a mere academic exercise but as a wakeup call and an existential warning, especially to the Jewish community which has been and continues to be used and abused by Zionists for their own nefarious purposes.

Zionism was originally a positive and important defensive reaction to European antisemitism seeking to encourage persecuted Jews worldwide to unite to aggressively defend their rights to equality and eventually, to establish a special refuge under Jewish control (Eichler, 2013). Many places were considered, including Argentina, Brazil and Uganda but eventually, the Palestinian portion of the Ottoman Empire came to be especially coveted, although it had been inhabited for millennia by, among others, the descendants of Jews who had refused to leave Palestine despite Roman persecution, most of whom had first been forcibly converted to Christianity and then to Islam. Those descendants of the original Hebrew population form the core of today’s Palestinians, albeit intermixed with other nationalities and cultures including Arab migrants.

In its quest to wrest Palestine from its inhabitants (Al Jazeera, 2017), Zionism unfortunately morphed into a rabid subgroup within Judaism but which also included Christian fundamentalist. The latter, although inherently anti-Semitic, see the establishment of a dominant Jewish state in Palestine as a prerequisite for Armageddon and then, the second coming of their messiah (Lewis, 2021) whom they refer to as Jesus the Christ, appellations which that individual never used, his name probably having been Yeshua ben Yosef. Problematically, Zionists attempt to speak for all Jews despite being rejected and considered anathema by many (Glass, 1975) and, instead of reducing antisemitism, have increased it, in many cases actively promoting it in an effort to force recalcitrant Jews to come under their umbrella, especially with respect to securing a Jewish majority in Palestine (Dowty, 2008; Nicosia, 2008; Reinharz, 1985). Indeed, Zionist tactics and strategies have come to mimic those of the German Nazis during the second war to end all wars, an irony of epic proportions. In light of the foregoing, it is essential to understand that Zionism and Judaism are extremely far from synonymous.

Unintended consequences are not always bad things; sometimes they make us reexamine past assumptions and beliefs. That is certainly the case with respect to the current genocide perpetrated by Israeli Zionists against Palestinians in the quest for ethnic cleansing (Hedges, 2024; Borrows-Freedman, 2024) and the support of such atrocities by all the major participants in the second war to end all wars, both Allies and Axis powers. Atrocities involving Israeli genocide and ethnic cleansing ongoing for over three quarters of a century (Al Jazeera (2017), in fact, since the end of the second war to end all wars, a war purportedly fought to eliminate state sponsored crimes of lesse humanidad, although, as in the case of most wars, the purported purpose was far from accurate.[1] In light of that reality, it is past time to conduct an objective review of just what happened during the build up to the second war to end all wars, what really happened during that war and what happened immediately following the war, in order to determine why it occurred, who was to blame and just how widespread the evil was. One question that has been asked but never answered with respect to that war’s immediate aftermath is why the atomic bombing of Japan was not considered genocide or the internment of Japanese Americans in concentration camps not considered a crime of lesse humanidad, such as the crimes with which leaders of the countries that lost that war were charged.[2]

The reality is that history has demonstrated that the Nuremburg trials and their Tokyo counterparts (Sellers, 2010; Buruma, 2023) were fraudulent travesties in large part orchestrated to divert attention from massively horrible war crimes committed by the victors, not just violations of human rights during the war but during the preceding centuries. It is therefore no surprise that their high sounding promotion and promises of a better, more just world have proven profoundly empty and that tens of millions died in vain, among them, twenty-seven million Russians, as well as the victims of the Holocaust. We celebrate the victims of that Holocaust, the one with the capital H, but dare not look into why it occurred or the role of Zionism in promoting it and turning Germany from a bastion of opportunity for Jews (Reinharz, 1985, chapters 3 and 4)[3], into their assassin, a question much more than just relevant in analyzing the nature of Zionism and its goals in light of the murderous nature of Zionism today (Rossinow, 2018), always noting that Zionism and Judaism are very far from synonymous. Indeed, during the first half of the twentieth century as it is today, Zionism is the prime promoter of antisemitism.

Very few people realize that during the first war to end all wars, the vast majority of Jews everywhere in the world were pro-German, including those in Germany, Russia and the United States, and that Zionists, betraying the majority of Jews everywhere, were tasked by the British with orchestrating the defeat of the Central Powers (Germany, Austria Hungary and Turkey) by goading the United States into entering the war on behalf of the Triple Entente (the United Kingdom, France and for a time Russia) in exchange for the land occupied for millennia by Palestinians (Cornelius, 2005; Stein, 1961). That was done and was the main reason that Germany, devastated in the post war “peace”, turned on its patriotic Jews, i.e., because Zionists claimed to have acted on behalf of Jews worldwide, without, of course, having the right to make that claim.

That such Zionists actions would lead to a massive increase in antisemitism was not only understood by Zionist leaders but was an important goal as they hoped that the extremely talented and productive Jewish community in Germany would be forced to immigrate to Palestine. That the costs of that massive and vituperous increase in antisemitism would be horrendous was irrelevant as, is the case of today’s genocide in Palestine, the ends, any ends at all, justified the means. However, German Jews were not as easy to manipulate as Zionists hoped so in 1933, well before the Holocaust, the one with the capital H, the World Zionist Organization, again acting in the name of all Jews, formally declared war on Germany, economic war to be sure, and organized a worldwide embargo on trade with Germany much as the United States has done this millennium with numerous countries, including Cuba, Venezuela, Iran and North Korea, and increasingly with Russia and China. The Zionist hope was that Germany would overreact and thus, that its Jewish population would either emigrate to Palestine voluntarily or be expelled. Zionists actually facilitated such emigration in collaboration with Adolf Hitler, on amicable terms, by negotiating what became known as the Transfer Agreement. All of the foregoing is clearly documented for anyone interested in the truth. See for example, “The Transfer Agreement and the Boycott Fever, 1933” (Walensky, 1987), a study published by someone with profound antizionist sentiments, to be sure, and thus attacked as unreliable, although, while its opinions and conclusions may be unsettling, even troubling to many, the facts are impeccable and are also documented by Jewish sources well-disposed towards Zionism (see Weiss, 1998).

The foregoing information is shared, not to justify the Holocaust, or to deny it, but to illustrate the nature of Zionism, an abomination to true Judaism, one willing to sacrifice anyone and anything in order to attain its delusional dreams of power and dominion. Domination not only over all Palestinians (or at least any that survived) but also of all Arabs and all Muslims, all in a sick parody of the Nazis final solution to the Jewish problem, the latter, a solution in large part crafted with the help of hypocritical Zionists themselves. Given that Zionists were willing to risk the death of six million Jews in order to appropriate the Palestinian homeland, their actions today putting the world at risk of nuclear holocaust ought not to shock or surprise us.

Most Zionists have always believed that genocide is an acceptable tool, taking the cue from the numerous instances in Hebrew history where it was used against their opponents, purportedly under divine command (Lemos, 2023). The examples are legion (most contained in the Torah) starting with the exodus from Egypt, the annihilation of Jericho, etc. Many have been cited by current Israeli leaders, including Israel’s prime minister, foreign minister and minister of defense as examples to follow with reference to the Palestinian people, more than 24,000 of whom, as of the date of this reflection (April 30, 2024), have been massacred by the Israeli Defense Forces, the vast majority of them defenseless women and children, many in obvious cold blood with the location of mass graves now a normal occurrence. Events celebrated in festive dancing and songs not only by Israeli soldiers, but more disturbingly, by Israeli children.

The so-called law of unintended consequences all too frequently results in terrible disasters and one might take the position that the horrible experiences involving antisemitism during the last century involved that phenomenon, but that would be a mistake. The consequences of Zionism were foreseen, intentional and lasting, impacting millions of people every day. The crux of this reflection is that today’s Zionist conduct, to the detriment of Jewish interests as well as to that of Zionism’s opponents, is not new. And perhaps, as an aside, to note how ironic it is that the three branches of the Abrahamic religion, Judaism, Christianity and Islam seem to have adopted the fratricide of Abel by Cain as their guiding principle.

A reading of the sources and suggested readings below makes the foregoing absolutely clear and it is the author’s hope that readers, disturbed by what is alleged in this reflection, will read, digest and analyze them. Many are available on line. The author has reached the conclusion that with the help of Zionists leaders, millions of Jews were the victims of genocide during the first half of the twentieth century. Readers may reach other conclusions. Nonetheless, it seems ironically clear that Zionism, which was a reaction to the crimes against many hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Jews, the victims of antisemitism throughout Europe during the past two millennia, have used the promotion of antisemitism as the most successful tool in their arsenal. An arsenal not really meant to protect the Jewish people but to consolidate power among a select group within Judaism, to steal their neighbor’s land, and to murder millions directly and indirectly through manipulation of Zionist allies in the United States and ironically, in Europe. Europe, where antisemitism was prevalent for millennia while the Islamic world, including Palestine, was the only place where Jews, as people of the book, were provided refuge and a modicum of opportunity.

How sick is that?[i]

[1] The American Civil War is an obvious example. The claim that it was fought to eliminate the scourge of African slavery is obviously untrue, witness President Abraham Lincoln’s first inaugural address and the fact that slavery continued in numerous Union states throughout that war, but continues to be taught and stressed as a fact. In truth, Abraham Lincoln was a rabid racist who felt Africans were inferior, should never attain political rights in the United States and indeed, should all be shipped out of its jurisdiction, preferably to Liberia or Panama, as he felt that Africans and whites could never, and should never, live together. [2] Those objectives are critical but beyond the scope of this reflection and indeed, as it has been for over three quarters of a century, much of the required research seems impossible given existing legal prohibitions on research and expression, and the relentless classification of essential information as top secret. One wonders why? But even if the information were readily available, the required report would be beyond the scope of even detailed treatise, requiring the free exchange of diverse opinions to untangle the incredible web deliberately woven to obfuscate the truth we need to know. Thus, of course, the scope of this brief reflection is much more limited, but perhaps, nonetheless essential.
